Welcome to the first monthly "NAME THAT PART." In these threads we will feature a single firearm for one month and every day during that month we will post a photograph of a feature or part on the firearm.

What we need YOU to do is to tell us what we just part or place on the firearm we just posted a photograph of. Three times during the day we will post hints and when we post the next part we will identify what the last part was and who got it right.

Lets get things started!

It is not part of the Fire Control Group.

It is not related to the rifles magazines or magazine retention assembly.

What other moving parts are there?

What other moving parts are there?

The extractor, ejector, bolt hold open, and the buffer assembly to name a few.

Incidentally, the back of the extractor, with the extractor spring is what is in the photograph.

I'm going to trump sir Fang and identify the parts as he as no AR15 and thusly is making things up. :cav:

Miso Beno

is this not the end of a bull barrel?

It's the business end of a barrel which is good enough for me. (It's the business end of a Smith muzzle brake to be precise.)
