The SOG Fusion Fixation dagger has quite a menacing "I'm going to cut your face off in deli thin slices and make a sandwhich" look. The dagger is 11.8 inches long overall, which makes it a "big, scary knife" to all the sheeple. Once again this is another full tang design, a design option that makes a knife much more durable than if it were not. The dagger definately has more weight towards the grip, but that seems to be more of a virtue for this knife. The Fixation is a very fast and agile blade to weild. In the right hands I would be willing to bet that it could be a very formidable fighting knife.

The blade itself is 6.6 inches from the tip of the point all the way back to the hilt. There are 2 blood grooves per side of the blade running from just about a 1/2 inch above to about an inch short of the blade tip. The grooves are roughly 5 inches long. The steel used to make the blade is 8Cr13MoV. It sounds like the name of a Windows file. It's a Chinese steel creation that's fairly tough, will get a nice sharp edge and has the ability to hold that edge under heavy use.

The grip material is Kraton. Kraton is a synthetic rubber used in everything from sneaker soles to asphalt. In this instance it's a hard synthetic rubber. Kraton is a high strength synthetic capable of handling high impacts and temperatures ranging from -94 deg F to 212 deg F. The checkering is a fairly agressive pattern but is comfortable when put to work.

As a whole the knife is a failry good one, even better for the money. The balance is quite nice and the knife can be thrown decently. My biggest complaint is the sheath. The SEAL Pup sheath was amazing, but this Fixation sheath was just plain and nasty. ONE steel eyelet for tie down and ONE belt loop are the only options! However I contacted Chris at SOG, who was super helpful and speedy to beat all, and he checked the knife in the SEAL 2000 Nylon sheath and told me it fit! It's a little snug around the hilt area, but it works. It also fits the Fixation Bowie knife. I'm definately going to be ordering that nylon sheath very soon!
