Okay, yes. I know. "But Exit Strategy, 5.11 pants are for nerds and people with too much imagination! Guys who want to be HSLD while they're going to K-Mart!"

True. However, I've always liked them, as a computer tech, because they provide a comfortable working environment for my penis while also giving me plenty of space to store the crap I regularly carry with me. My job entails setting up large-scale 802.11 panels for rural towns in central Pennsylvania and Ohio. This being the case, I need to carry:

GPS receiver
Flashlight
Satellite and Panel Aim Assist Device ("birdsight", actually an old Handspring Visor with some calculation software on it)
Standard toolkit
Network toolkit

And then my usual CZ-97 and its associated folderol. So when I saw BrigadeQM offering a new iteration of the Tactical Pants, called the "Magazine Pants" or "MULTI-FLEXX" pants, I jumped on that. More pockets! More room? 2% Spandex!? My dreams of being a telecommunications superhero were coming true.

So I ordered a pair, my fat ass clocking in at 40x32. These things are awesome. An ingenious use of Velcro permits the magazine pockets to fit either pistol-size or rifle-size magazines, as well as many other things. For example, I carry my GPS and birdsight on my right leg, in front of my code chart for the sight which is in the big cargo pocket, and my phone and flashlight in the other two pockets in front of whatever book I'm reading while bored on a tower. The pockets, like the rest of the pants, stretch instead of tearing, a problem I had with several pairs of 5.11 Tactical Pants.

It's brief, but there you go: If you wear 5.11s, you owe it to yourself to head over to BQM and buy a pair of these things when you've got a spare fifty laying around.

When I was still working at a Queer Gear shop I remember my 5.11 rep showing a set of those off. I've never been a huge fan of their stuff but if you absolutely need queer gear go loud pants for a tactical class or IPSC course, those are definitely worth looking into.
